I have been married for 14 years and have one very happy and well fed hubby.My goal is to try one new recipe a week, for the past 8 years have achieved this. I have a severe egg allergy and am lactose intolerant, I enjoy working out ways to still enjoy food minus eggs and milk. I'm a stay at home mum of four aged: 10, 8, 7 and almost 6. My Poppy has long since passed, but I fondly remember him every time I log on. Do not walk away! Stir-frying is FAST and requires near-constant stirring (hence the name) to keep things from over-cooking or burning in the high heat.As a toddler, my nic-name was Pompom (my Poppy had a golf hat with a pompom and it was one of my first words, and it stuck as my nic name).Mix anything you can and chop anything you can before you start. Chinese noodles may be added before serving. Mix cornstarch with mushroom liquid and add to pan. Blend cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water add to pan, stirring vigorously until well-blended. Add canned vegetables, chicken broth, soy sauce and pepper. Cover, reduce heat and cook until tender, about 20 minutes. To the pan add onion, celery, mushrooms, and bean sprouts and fry a few minutes. Add the peppers, celery, onions and mushrooms. Prepare EVERYTHING! Make sure all ingredients are at hand. Add the meat, salt, soya sauce, and garlic brown quickly and remove from pan.Faster cooking means it will be more tender. More surface area means it will cook faster. Tools Needed to Make Chop Suey: Mushrooms (shitake is authentic, but any will do).If you make stir-fry recipes regularly, you will only need to get some meat and veggies at the grocery store. This looks like a ton of ingredients, but if you start breaking it down, you will find that MOST are pantry staples. It isn’t as frustrating as it sounds! So, I always have to be super careful about where I eat and am never quite sure what ingredients are unless they are in English.
