9/4/2023 0 Comments Morning serenity meaning![]() ![]() Besides, didn't we just go over exposure compensation? Didn't I tell you I knew what it was, and didn't need any help with it? Hello?! And, I use all those other features on a daily basis, also. This is too funny! Yes, Morris, I know what exposure compensation is, I have been using a digital camera for at least a couple years but you knew that. Photoshop ACR also offers it as well as shadow recovery and more fine tuned adjustments to white, highlight and black points. Is that a feature in PS?Įxposure compensation is a camera features. ![]() I use Topaz Studio 2, I'm not aware of any one 'image compensation' slider other than the exposure slider. “You can teach a narcissist to show up on time, but you can't train them to listen once they get there.” ? Dr. ![]() I was actually thinking about turning down the exposure and making my shot a silhouette vs a semi silhouette, but I liked the detail in the wings too much to not show it and figured 'most' people would understand it's a semi silhouette and not say anything about any lack of detail anywhere on the bird. I like them both, great images, I've seen very vibrant skies like in #1 and the latter and yes, pelicans are magnificent birds. Some may prefer the softer, low key colors. This is the original SOOC small basic jpeg. I punched up the early morning background colors on this one, processed from raw. The one below was taken last January near Anclote (I think). ![]() In my opinion, they are one of the best birds to present as a silhouette, or partial silhouette. Pelicans can look regal and graceful, or imposing and menacingly pre-historic. You only 'assume' I meant something, and you can't admit you were wrong. My feathers are ruffled because who likes anyone putting words in their mouth that they didn't say. Why you can't understand it or refuse to believe it is beyond me. Morris, I can understand how you initially thought I wanted to see detail because of how I worded it, but I've explained to you what I really meant. As I stated I like the image and tried to help you with that desire to have more detail in images like this. You have lovely detail everywhere except that belly and your saying you tried to lift the shadows shows that you would like to have a bit of detail there. I already tried 'lifting the shadows' and there just isn't anything there." That would've told most people that I know to expose more to lift the shadows so they wouldn't bother critiquing but not everyone got the message. It was rather far away and looking at the shadow side so there isn't any detail to be seen on its belly. You left out the important stuff, "A 'back lit' style shot of a brown pelican flying past in the morning light. It sounds like you are critiquing your work. To me that sounds like you are disappointed there is no detail. This is what you wrote "looking at the shadow side so there isn't any detail to be seen on its belly." I'm done explaining myself.Ĭharacter is the architect of achievements. I explained the reason for the lack of detail because someone that doesn't know photography almost always critiques on the lack of it, as if you have to show detail, even if it's totally dark in an area. You're assuming I wanted more detail and don't know how to expose for it, but you read me wrong, and I know how to expose for more detail if I wish to. Shooting mirrorless, at least we get an opportunity to try different exposures if you can spin the compensation dial fast enough. If you want shadow detail, you have to expose for it, at least to some extent by letting the highlights go a bit. ![]()
